Home Care & Staffing in London

The Edgware office is where Protocol Healthcare Services started, and it is still where most of our London work is coordinated. Two quite different things run from it. The first is home care for families: live-in carers, hourly visiting care, respite cover, dementia and specialist support, and NMC-registered nurses for clinical care at home. The second is staffing for organisations: nurses, support workers, mental health and learning disability specialists supplied to care homes, supported living services and NHS teams.

Highview House sits on Station Road, a few minutes from Edgware station at the top of the Northern line, which is part of why the office ended up here. It puts the team within easy reach of Harrow, Barnet, Brent and the Hertfordshire border, and close enough to central London that a consultant can get to a client or a service in person when that is the right thing to do.

Edgware is our registered location with the Care Quality Commission. Protocol Healthcare Services Ltd is registered to provide personal care in England under provider ID 1-6591402702, and this office is registered location 1-7083880679, registered on 25 June 2019. You can check both on the CQC public register: our provider page and our registered location. CQC has not yet inspected the service, so there is no published rating to show; when a report is issued we will publish it.

Home care is arranged across north and north-west London and into Hertfordshire, and our staffing side supplies organisations across Greater London and nationwide. In practice the heaviest concentration is in Edgware, Harrow, Stanmore, Barnet, Borehamwood and Watford, with regular work through Camden, Enfield, Ealing, Brent and St Albans.

How quickly care can start

For families, the first step is a conversation rather than a form. We talk through what the days look like now, what is getting difficult, and whether visiting care or a live-in arrangement fits better. An assessment usually follows within a few days, and care can often begin within 24 to 48 hours where the situation is urgent, such as a hospital discharge. For providers, we can usually respond to a shift request the same day.
