Nurse roles in Camden

Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Camden. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.

Camden and the area we cover

Work comes up near Camden Town, Kentish Town and Hampstead, much of it within reach of Royal Free Hospital. Between Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Camden Council, most of what we staff around Belsize Park sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Camden Town, Kentish Town and Hampstead one week, Belsize Park, Gospel Oak and Dartmouth Park the next. If you are based around NW1 or NW3, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

What you would be doing

  • Accurate record keeping and handover
  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations
  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift

Shifts, and how they are booked

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Dartmouth Park is easier for you to reach than King's Cross, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around King's Cross.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Camden Town and Belsize Park first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What we look for

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

What we do for you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Camden itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Islington, Westminster and Hendon as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Camden.

Tell us which parts of London you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
