Nurse roles in Finchley
Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Finchley. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.
Where you would be based in Finchley
Work comes up near Finchley Central, Church End and North Finchley, much of it within reach of Barnet Hospital. Between Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust and Barnet Council, most of what we staff around East Finchley sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Finchley Central, Church End and North Finchley one week, East Finchley, West Finchley and Woodside Park the next. If you are based around N2 or N3, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Woodside Park is easier for you to reach than Fallow Corner, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Fallow Corner.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Finchley Central and East Finchley first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
Why people stay with us
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Finchley itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Hendon, Mill Hill and Haringey as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Finchley.
Tell us which parts of London you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.

Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Finchley before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Finchley Central, Church End, North Finchley, East Finchley and West Finchley, covering N2, N3, N12 and N20, and out into London. Barnet Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
