Nurse roles in Croydon
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Croydon, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Croydon and the area we cover
Croydon University Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Addiscombe and Thornton Heath draw staff from the same pool. Croydon Health Services NHS Trust runs services locally, with Croydon Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Addiscombe, South Croydon and Thornton Heath, with regular work further out at Purley, Coulsdon and Selsdon. Postings run through CR0, CR2 and CR7, including out at Shirley.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Coulsdon on earlies and Selsdon on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Addiscombe and Sanderstead.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Thornton Heath to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
What we look for
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
What we do for you
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which London services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Croydon itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Sutton, Merton and Bromley are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Croydon both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Addiscombe, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
Nurse Jobs in Croydon, answered
You need current NMC registration and the right to work in the UK. Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable but not essential, and we will talk through which settings around Croydon suit your background.
Day, night and weekend shifts, on full-time and part-time patterns. You set your availability and we work to it. Once you are established we can offer regular ongoing shifts rather than one-offs.
Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Croydon before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Addiscombe, South Croydon, Thornton Heath, Purley and Coulsdon, covering CR0, CR2, CR7 and CR9, and out into London. Croydon University Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
