Where you would be based in Lewisham
Work comes up near Blackheath, Catford and Deptford, much of it within reach of University Hospital. Between Greenwich NHS Trust and Lewisham Council, most of what we staff around Brockley sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Blackheath, Catford and Deptford one week, Brockley, Ladywell and Hither Green the next. If you are based around SE13 or SE6, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Hither Green is easier for you to reach than Lee Green, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Lee Green.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Blackheath and Brockley first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Lewisham itself, which we would rather say plainly.
