Support Worker roles in Aldershot

Support Worker roles in Aldershot cover a lot of ground: supported living, mental health services, learning disability support and community teams. Protocol Healthcare Services places people on agency shifts and in permanent posts across all of it.

Where the work is in Aldershot

Frimley Park Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around North Town and Cargate draw staff from the same pool. Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Hampshire County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.

Most placements are in North Town, Manor Park and Cargate, with regular work further out at Rowhill, St John's and Aldershot Park. Postings run through GU11 and GU12, including out at West Heath.

The job day to day

  • Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
  • Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
  • Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
  • Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
  • Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
  • Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team

When you would work

Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering St John's on earlies and Aldershot Park on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between North Town and Wellington.

Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Cargate to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

Before you apply

  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Patience, resilience and respect for the people you support
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential

Working with Protocol

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Hampshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Aldershot itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Guildford, Woking and Bracknell are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Aldershot both.

Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from North Town, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
