Work comes up near Horsell, Knaphill and Goldsworth Park, much of it within reach of Woking Community Hospital. Between St Peter's Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Surrey County Council, most of what we staff around West Byfleet sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Horsell, Knaphill and Goldsworth Park one week, West Byfleet, Byfleet and Sheerwater the next. If you are based around GU21 or GU22, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Sheerwater is easier for you to reach than St Johns, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around St Johns.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Horsell and West Byfleet first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Surrey shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Woking itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Guildford, Aldershot and Bracknell as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Woking.
