Nurse roles in Falkirk
Nursing work in Falkirk comes in more shapes than most people expect. Protocol Healthcare Services recruits Registered Nurses for agency shifts and for permanent posts, and the right answer depends on what you want your week to look like rather than on what we have to fill.
Where you would be based in Falkirk
Forth Valley Royal Hospital anchors a good deal of the health provision around Falkirk Town Centre and Grangemouth, and the settings we recruit for sit close to it. Falkirk Council commissions much of the care in the area.
We fill posts in Falkirk Town Centre, Grangemouth, Larbert and Stenhousemuir and out towards Bo'ness, Denny and Bonnybridge. FK6, FK1 and FK2 come up most often, and work extends through Scotland.
What the role involves
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
Hours, shifts and contracts
You set your availability. Plenty of the people we place around Bo'ness work three or four shifts and keep the rest of the week their own. Most people settle into a handful of regular services, often within a few miles of Larbert.
Agency and permanent are both on offer. Picking up shifts in two or three services around Grangemouth is a low-risk way to find out where you want to be.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
Why people stay with us
One consultant looks after you, knows the difference between the services in Falkirk Town Centre and Bo'ness, and is reachable when a shift throws something up. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Falkirk itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Work in Cumbernauld and Stirling often suits the same people, so tell us how far you are willing to go.
Send your availability and what you are qualified for, and a consultant will call you back about work around Stenhousemuir. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
