Where the work is in Motherwell
Work comes up near Motherwell Town Centre, Craigneuk and Forgewood, much of it within reach of University Hospital. Between North Lanarkshire and North Lanarkshire Council, most of what we staff around Muirhouse sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Motherwell Town Centre, Craigneuk and Forgewood one week, Muirhouse, Flemington and Ladywell the next. If you are based around ML1 or ML1, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Ladywell is easier for you to reach than Netherton, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Netherton.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Motherwell Town Centre and Muirhouse first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your North Lanarkshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Motherwell itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Hamilton, East Kilbride and Cumbernauld as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Motherwell.
