Cumbernauld and the area we cover
University Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Carbrain and Seafar draw staff from the same pool. North Lanarkshire Council runs services locally.
Most placements are in Carbrain, Kildrum and Seafar, with regular work further out at Ravenswood, Abronhill and Condorrat. Postings run through G67 and G68, including out at Cumbernauld Village.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Abronhill on earlies and Condorrat on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Carbrain and Greenfaulds.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Seafar to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which North Lanarkshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Cumbernauld itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Falkirk, Motherwell and Glasgow are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Cumbernauld both.
