Where you would be based in Hull
Work comes up near City Centre, The Avenues and Bransholme, much of it within reach of Hull Royal Infirmary. Between Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Hull City Council, most of what we staff around Orchard Park sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: City Centre, The Avenues and Bransholme one week, Orchard Park, Sutton and Newland the next. If you are based around HU1 or HU9, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Newland is easier for you to reach than Kingswood, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Kingswood.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between City Centre and Orchard Park first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your East Yorkshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Hull itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Grimsby, Scunthorpe and York as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Hull.
