Healthcare Assistant roles in Hull

If you are looking for Healthcare Assistant work in Hull, whether that is a few shifts a week around study or family, or a full-time permanent post, Protocol Healthcare Services can help you find it.

Hull and the area we cover

Hull Royal Infirmary anchors a good deal of the health provision around City Centre and The Avenues, and the settings we recruit for sit close to it. Hull City Council commissions much of the care in the area, and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust runs the clinical side.

We fill posts in City Centre, The Avenues, Bransholme and Orchard Park and out towards Sutton, Newland and Kingswood. HU1 and HU9 come up most often, and work extends through East Yorkshire.

What you would be doing

  • Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
  • Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
  • Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
  • Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
  • Reporting changes and keeping clear records
  • Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable

Shifts, and how they are booked

You set your availability. Plenty of the people we place around Sutton work three or four shifts and keep the rest of the week their own. Most people settle into a handful of regular services, often within a few miles of Bransholme.

Agency and permanent are both on offer. Picking up shifts in two or three services around The Avenues is a low-risk way to find out where you want to be.

What we look for

  • Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A caring, patient and reliable approach
  • Good spoken and written communication

What we do for you

One consultant looks after you, knows the difference between the services in City Centre and Sutton, and is reachable when a shift throws something up. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Hull itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Work in Grimsby and Scunthorpe often suits the same people, so tell us how far you are willing to go.

Send your availability and what you are qualified for, and a consultant will call you back about work around Orchard Park. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
