Nurse roles in Stockton-on-Tees
Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Stockton-on-Tees. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.
Where the work is in Stockton-on-Tees
Work comes up near Norton, Thornaby and Billingham, much of it within reach of University Hospital. Between Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust and Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council, most of what we staff around Ingleby Barwick sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Norton, Thornaby and Billingham one week, Ingleby Barwick, Yarm and Eaglescliffe the next. If you are based around TS22 or TS19, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Eaglescliffe is easier for you to reach than Fairfield, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Fairfield.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Norton and Ingleby Barwick first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Before you apply
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Teesside shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Stockton-on-Tees itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Middlesbrough, Hartlepool and Darlington as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Stockton-on-Tees.
Tell us which parts of Teesside you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
