Nurse roles in Salford

Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Salford. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.

Where the work is in Salford

Work comes up near Eccles, Swinton and Walkden, much of it within reach of Salford Royal Hospital. Between Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust and Salford City Council, most of what we staff around Pendlebury sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Eccles, Swinton and Walkden one week, Pendlebury, Ordsall and Pendleton the next. Greater Manchester is well within the area we cover.

The job day to day

  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
  • Accurate record keeping and handover
  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations

When you would work

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Pendleton is easier for you to reach than Worsley, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Worsley.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Eccles and Pendlebury first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

Before you apply

  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential

Working with Protocol

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Greater Manchester shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Salford itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Manchester, Stockport and Oldham as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Salford.

Tell us which parts of Greater Manchester you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
