Nurse roles in Warrington

If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Warrington, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.

Working around Warrington

Warrington Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Stockton Heath and Great Sankey draw staff from the same pool. Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Warrington Borough Council commissioning the social care alongside them.

Most placements are in Stockton Heath, Latchford and Great Sankey, with regular work further out at Penketh, Woolston and Orford. Postings run through WA1, WA4 and WA5, including out at Westbrook.

A typical shift

  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations
  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
  • Accurate record keeping and handover

Shifts and contracts

Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Woolston on earlies and Orford on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Stockton Heath and Birchwood.

Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Great Sankey to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

What you will need

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

How we work with you

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Cheshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Warrington itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Widnes, Runcorn and St Helens are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Warrington both.

Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Stockton Heath, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
