Care Home roles in Warrington

Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Warrington, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.

Where the work is in Warrington

Work comes up near Stockton Heath, Latchford and Great Sankey, much of it within reach of Warrington Hospital. Between Halton Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Warrington Borough Council, most of what we staff around Penketh sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Stockton Heath, Latchford and Great Sankey one week, Penketh, Woolston and Orford the next. If you are based around WA1 or WA4, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

The job day to day

  • Mobility support and safe moving and handling
  • Medication support appropriate to your role and training
  • Activities, companionship and keeping families informed
  • Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
  • Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
  • Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition

When you would work

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Orford is easier for you to reach than Birchwood, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Birchwood.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Stockton Heath and Penketh first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

Before you apply

  • NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
  • Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach

Working with Protocol

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Cheshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Warrington itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Widnes, Runcorn and St Helens as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Warrington.

Tell us which parts of Cheshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
