Where you would be based in Rochdale
Rochdale Infirmary is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Castleton and Norden draw staff from the same pool. Northern Care Alliance NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Rochdale Borough Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Castleton, Bamford and Norden, with regular work further out at Healey, Spotland and Milnrow. Postings run through OL11, OL12 and OL15, including out at Wardle.
What the role involves
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Hours, shifts and contracts
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Spotland on earlies and Milnrow on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Castleton and Littleborough.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Norden to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
