Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Newark. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.
Newark and the area we cover
Work comes up near Balderton, New Balderton and Fernwood, much of it within reach of Newark Hospital. Between Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Nottinghamshire County Council, most of what we staff around Coddington sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Balderton, New Balderton and Fernwood one week, Coddington, Farndon and Winthorpe the next. If you are based around NG24 or NG22, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Winthorpe is easier for you to reach than Beacon Hill, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Beacon Hill.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Balderton and Coddington first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Nottinghamshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Newark itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Lincoln, Nottingham and Mansfield as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Newark.
