Nurse roles in Lincoln

Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Lincoln. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.

Working around Lincoln

Work comes up near Bailgate, Ermine and Birchwood, much of it within reach of Lincoln County Hospital. Between United Lincolnshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Lincolnshire County Council, most of what we staff around Boultham sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Bailgate, Ermine and Birchwood one week, Boultham, Hartsholme and Carholme the next. If you are based around LN1 or LN2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

A typical shift

  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
  • Accurate record keeping and handover
  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations

Shifts and contracts

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Carholme is easier for you to reach than Uphill, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Uphill.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Bailgate and Boultham first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What you will need

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

How we work with you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Lincolnshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Lincoln itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Newark, Scunthorpe and Mansfield as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Lincoln.

Tell us which parts of Lincolnshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
