Working around Dundee
Ninewells Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Broughty Ferry and Stobswell draw staff from the same pool. Dundee City Council runs services locally.
Most placements are in Broughty Ferry, Lochee and Stobswell, with regular work further out at West End, Hilltown and Menzieshill. Postings run through DD1 and DD5, including out at Fintry.
A typical shift
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
Shifts and contracts
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Hilltown on earlies and Menzieshill on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Broughty Ferry and Douglas.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Stobswell to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Scotland services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Dundee itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Perth, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Dundee both.
