Where you would be based in Dundee
Work comes up near Broughty Ferry, Lochee and Stobswell, much of it within reach of Ninewells Hospital. Between Scotland and Dundee City Council, most of what we staff around West End sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Broughty Ferry, Lochee and Stobswell one week, West End, Hilltown and Menzieshill the next. If you are based around DD1 or DD5, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Menzieshill is easier for you to reach than Douglas, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Douglas.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Broughty Ferry and West End first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Scotland shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Dundee itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Perth, Kirkcaldy and Dunfermline as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Dundee.
