Care Home roles in Dudley
Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Dudley, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.
Working around Dudley
Work comes up near Dudley Town, Brierley Hill and Stourbridge, much of it within reach of Russells Hall Hospital. Between The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, most of what we staff around Halesowen sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Dudley Town, Brierley Hill and Stourbridge one week, Halesowen, Sedgley and Coseley the next. If you are based around DY1 or DY9, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Mobility support and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Medication support appropriate to your role and training
- ✓ Activities, companionship and keeping families informed
- ✓ Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
- ✓ Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
- ✓ Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Coseley is easier for you to reach than Kingswinford, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Kingswinford.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Dudley Town and Halesowen first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
- ✓NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
- ✓Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your West Midlands shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Dudley itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in West Bromwich, Stourbridge and Wolverhampton as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Dudley.
Tell us which parts of West Midlands you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
