Nurse roles in Dudley
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Dudley, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Where the work is in Dudley
Russells Hall Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Dudley Town and Stourbridge draw staff from the same pool. The Dudley Group NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Dudley Town, Brierley Hill and Stourbridge, with regular work further out at Halesowen, Sedgley and Coseley. Postings run through DY1 and DY9, including out at Netherton.
The job day to day
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
When you would work
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Sedgley on earlies and Coseley on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Dudley Town and Kingswinford.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Stourbridge to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
Before you apply
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
Working with Protocol
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which West Midlands services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Dudley itself, which we would rather say plainly.
West Bromwich, Stourbridge and Wolverhampton are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Dudley both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Dudley Town, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
