Work comes up near Fulflood, Hyde and Weeke, much of it within reach of Royal Hampshire County Hospital. Between Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Hampshire County Council, most of what we staff around Harestock sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Fulflood, Hyde and Weeke one week, Harestock, Stanmore and Highcliffe the next. If you are based around SO22 or SO23, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Highcliffe is easier for you to reach than St Cross, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around St Cross.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Fulflood and Harestock first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

- ✓Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Hampshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Winchester itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Southampton, Basingstoke and Portsmouth as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Winchester.
