Where the work is in Weymouth
Work comes up near Melcombe Regis, Wyke Regis and Rodwell, much of it within reach of Weymouth Community Hospital. Between Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust and Dorset Council, most of what we staff around Westham sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Melcombe Regis, Wyke Regis and Rodwell one week, Westham, Radipole and Preston the next. If you are based around DT3 or DT4, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Preston is easier for you to reach than Overcombe, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Overcombe.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Melcombe Regis and Westham first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Dorset shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Weymouth itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Dorchester, Wareham and Blandford Forum as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Weymouth.
