Support Worker roles in Leeds

If you want Support Worker work in Leeds, Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for supported living, mental health and learning disability services, on both temporary and permanent contracts.

Leeds and the area we cover

Leeds General Infirmary anchors a good deal of the health provision around Roundhay and Alwoodley, and the settings we recruit for sit close to it. Leeds City Council commissions much of the care in the area, and Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust runs the clinical side.

We fill posts in Roundhay, Alwoodley, Moortown and Chapel Allerton and out towards Headingley, Meanwood and Horsforth. LS1, LS6, LS7 and LS8 come up most often, and work extends through West Yorkshire.

What you would be doing

  • Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
  • Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
  • Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
  • Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
  • Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
  • Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed

Shifts, and how they are booked

You set your availability. Plenty of the people we place around Headingley work three or four shifts and keep the rest of the week their own. Most people settle into a handful of regular services, often within a few miles of Moortown.

Agency and permanent are both on offer. Picking up shifts in two or three services around Alwoodley is a low-risk way to find out where you want to be.

What we look for

  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Patience, resilience and respect for the people you support

What we do for you

One consultant looks after you, knows the difference between the services in Roundhay and Headingley, and is reachable when a shift throws something up. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Leeds itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Work in Batley and Dewsbury often suits the same people, so tell us how far you are willing to go.

Send your availability and what you are qualified for, and a consultant will call you back about work around Chapel Allerton. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
