Healthcare Assistant roles in Leeds
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Leeds, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Where you would be based in Leeds
Work comes up near Roundhay, Alwoodley and Moortown, much of it within reach of Leeds General Infirmary. Between Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Leeds City Council, most of what we staff around Chapel Allerton sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Roundhay, Alwoodley and Moortown one week, Chapel Allerton, Headingley and Meanwood the next. If you are based around LS1 or LS6, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Meanwood is easier for you to reach than Horsforth, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Horsforth.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Roundhay and Chapel Allerton first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
Why people stay with us
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your West Yorkshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Leeds itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Batley, Dewsbury and Wakefield as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Leeds.
Tell us which parts of West Yorkshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
