Nurse roles in Coventry
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Coventry, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Where you would be based in Coventry
University Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Earlsdon and Cheylesmore draw staff from the same pool. Warwickshire NHS Trust runs services locally, with Coventry City Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Earlsdon, Coundon and Cheylesmore, with regular work further out at Foleshill, Allesley and Tile Hill. Postings run through CV1, CV4 and CV5, including out at Stoke.
What the role involves
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Hours, shifts and contracts
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Allesley on earlies and Tile Hill on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Earlsdon and Radford.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Cheylesmore to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
Who we are looking for
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
Why people stay with us
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which West Midlands services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Coventry itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Nuneaton, Solihull and Rugby are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Coventry both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Earlsdon, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
Nurse Jobs in Coventry, answered
You need current NMC registration and the right to work in the UK. Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable but not essential, and we will talk through which settings around Coventry suit your background.
Day, night and weekend shifts, on full-time and part-time patterns. You set your availability and we work to it. Once you are established we can offer regular ongoing shifts rather than one-offs.
Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Coventry before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Earlsdon, Coundon, Cheylesmore, Foleshill and Allesley, covering CV1, CV4, CV5 and CV3, and out into West Midlands. University Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
