Care Home roles in Coventry
Care home work in Coventry suits people who want to know the people they look after rather than meet someone new every day. Protocol Healthcare Services fills shifts and permanent posts in nursing and residential settings, for nurses and for care staff alike.
Coventry and the area we cover
University Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Earlsdon and Cheylesmore draw staff from the same pool. Warwickshire NHS Trust runs services locally, with Coventry City Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Earlsdon, Coundon and Cheylesmore, with regular work further out at Foleshill, Allesley and Tile Hill. Postings run through CV1, CV4 and CV5, including out at Stoke.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Medication support appropriate to your role and training
- ✓ Activities, companionship and keeping families informed
- ✓ Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
- ✓ Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
- ✓ Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
- ✓ Mobility support and safe moving and handling
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Allesley on earlies and Tile Hill on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Earlsdon and Radford.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Cheylesmore to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
What we look for
- ✓Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
- ✓NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
- ✓Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
What we do for you
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which West Midlands services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Coventry itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Nuneaton, Solihull and Rugby are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Coventry both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Earlsdon, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
