Support Worker roles in Rugby

Support Worker roles in Rugby cover a lot of ground: supported living, mental health services, learning disability support and community teams. Protocol Healthcare Services places people on agency shifts and in permanent posts across all of it.

Rugby and the area we cover

University Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Hillmorton and Brownsover draw staff from the same pool. Warwickshire NHS Trust runs services locally, with Warwickshire County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.

Most placements are in Hillmorton, Bilton and Brownsover, with regular work further out at Newbold on Avon, New Bilton and Overslade. Postings run through CV21, CV22 and CV23, including out at Cawston.

What you would be doing

  • Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
  • Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
  • Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
  • Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
  • Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
  • Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community

Shifts, and how they are booked

Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering New Bilton on earlies and Overslade on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Hillmorton and Admirals.

Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Brownsover to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

What we look for

  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Patience, resilience and respect for the people you support
  • Good communication skills
  • Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential

What we do for you

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Warwickshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Rugby itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Coventry, Nuneaton and Northampton are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Rugby both.

Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Hillmorton, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
