Work comes up near Romford Town Centre, Gidea Park and Collier Row, much of it within reach of Queen's Hospital. Between Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust and Havering Council, most of what we staff around Rush Green sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Romford Town Centre, Gidea Park and Collier Row one week, Rush Green, Harold Wood and Harold Hill the next. If you are based around RM1 or RM2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Harold Hill is easier for you to reach than Marks Gate, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Marks Gate.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Romford Town Centre and Rush Green first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential

What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Romford itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Ilford, Barking and Newham as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Romford.
