Nurse roles in New Milton

If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near New Milton, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.

Where you would be based in New Milton

Lymington New Forest Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Old Milton and Ashley draw staff from the same pool. Wight Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Hampshire County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.

Most placements are in Old Milton, Barton on Sea and Ashley, with regular work further out at Bashley, Wootton and Fernhill. Postings run through BH25, including out at Hordle.

What the role involves

  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
  • Accurate record keeping and handover
  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations
  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence

Hours, shifts and contracts

Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Wootton on earlies and Fernhill on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Old Milton and Ossemsley.

Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Ashley to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

Who we are looking for

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)

Why people stay with us

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Hampshire services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in New Milton itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Lymington, Christchurch and Ringwood are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and New Milton both.

Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Old Milton, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
