King's Lynn and the area we cover
The Queen Elizabeth Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Gaywood and South Lynn draw staff from the same pool. The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with Norfolk County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Gaywood, North Lynn and South Lynn, with regular work further out at West Lynn, Fairstead and Springwood. Postings run through PE30, PE31 and PE34, including out at South Wootton.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Fairstead on earlies and Springwood on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Gaywood and North Wootton.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around South Lynn to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.

- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK

You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which Norfolk services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in King's Lynn itself, which we would rather say plainly.
