Care Home roles in King's Lynn
Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around King's Lynn, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.
Where you would be based in King's Lynn
Work comes up near Gaywood, North Lynn and South Lynn, much of it within reach of The Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Between The Queen Elizabeth Hospital King's Lynn NHS Foundation Trust and Norfolk County Council, most of what we staff around West Lynn sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Gaywood, North Lynn and South Lynn one week, West Lynn, Fairstead and Springwood the next. If you are based around PE30 or PE31, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
- ✓ Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
- ✓ Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
- ✓ Mobility support and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Medication support appropriate to your role and training
- ✓ Activities, companionship and keeping families informed
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Springwood is easier for you to reach than North Wootton, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around North Wootton.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Gaywood and West Lynn first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
- ✓NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
- ✓Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
Why people stay with us
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Norfolk shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in King's Lynn itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Peterborough, Bury St Edmunds and Norwich as well, and many people cover two of those alongside King's Lynn.
Tell us which parts of Norfolk you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
