Nurse roles in Ilford
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Ilford, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Ilford and the area we cover
Queen's Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Ilford Town Centre and Seven Kings draw staff from the same pool. Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust runs services locally, with Redbridge Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Ilford Town Centre, Goodmayes and Seven Kings, with regular work further out at Newbury Park, Gants Hill and Barkingside. Postings run through IG1, IG5 and IG2, including out at Cranbrook.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
Shifts, and how they are booked
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Gants Hill on earlies and Barkingside on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Ilford Town Centre and Clayhall.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around Seven Kings to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
What we look for
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
What we do for you
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which London services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Ilford itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Barking, Newham and Waltham Forest are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Ilford both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Ilford Town Centre, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
