Nurse roles in Crawley
If you are an NMC-registered nurse living in or near Crawley, we would like to hear from you. Protocol Healthcare Services supplies nurses to community and healthcare settings across the UK, on temporary contracts, permanent contracts, or a mix of the two while you work out what suits.
Working around Crawley
Crawley Hospital is the hospital local teams work alongside, and the homes and services around Three Bridges and West Green draw staff from the same pool. Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust runs services locally, with West Sussex County Council commissioning the social care alongside them.
Most placements are in Three Bridges, Northgate and West Green, with regular work further out at Southgate, Ifield and Langley Green. Postings run through RH10 and RH11, including out at Maidenbower.
A typical shift
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
Shifts and contracts
Days, nights and weekends are all available, full time or part time. Someone covering Ifield on earlies and Langley Green on nights is an ordinary week here. The aim is ongoing work in settings you already know, not a different address every week between Three Bridges and Pound Hill.
Some people stay on agency indefinitely; others use a few months around West Green to find the right permanent home. Both are fine.
What you will need
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
How we work with you
You get one consultant who knows your registration, your patch and which West Sussex services you have already worked in. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Crawley itself, which we would rather say plainly.
Sutton, Croydon and Guildford are close enough that plenty of our people work across them and Crawley both.
Let us know your hours and how far you will travel from Three Bridges, and we will do the rest. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.

Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Crawley before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Three Bridges, Northgate, West Green, Southgate and Ifield, covering RH10 and RH11, and out into West Sussex. Crawley Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
