Healthcare Assistant roles in Tower Hamlets
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Tower Hamlets, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Working around Tower Hamlets
Work comes up near Bethnal Green, Bow and Poplar, much of it within reach of The Royal London Hospital. Between Barts Health NHS Trust and Tower Hamlets Council, most of what we staff around Whitechapel sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Bethnal Green, Bow and Poplar one week, Whitechapel, Stepney and Mile End the next. If you are based around E1 or E2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Mile End is easier for you to reach than Limehouse, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Limehouse.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Bethnal Green and Whitechapel first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Tower Hamlets itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Hackney, Southwark and Newham as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Tower Hamlets.
Tell us which parts of London you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
