Healthcare Assistant roles in Hackney
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Hackney, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Hackney and the area we cover
Work comes up near Hackney Central, Dalston and Stoke Newington, much of it within reach of Homerton University Hospital. Between Homerton Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and Hackney Council, most of what we staff around Clapton sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Hackney Central, Dalston and Stoke Newington one week, Clapton, Homerton and Hackney Wick the next. If you are based around E5 or E8, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Hackney Wick is easier for you to reach than Shoreditch, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Shoreditch.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Hackney Central and Clapton first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your London shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Hackney itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Tower Hamlets, Islington and Southwark as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Hackney.
Tell us which parts of London you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
