Working around Peterborough
Work comes up near Werrington, Bretton and Orton, much of it within reach of Peterborough City Hospital. Between North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and Peterborough City Council, most of what we staff around Stanground sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Werrington, Bretton and Orton one week, Stanground, Longthorpe and Paston the next. If you are based around PE4 or PE3, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Paston is easier for you to reach than Dogsthorpe, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Dogsthorpe.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Werrington and Stanground first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your East of England shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Peterborough itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Corby, Kettering and King's Lynn as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Peterborough.
Tell us which parts of East of England you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
