Healthcare Assistant roles in Northampton
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Northampton, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Working around Northampton
Work comes up near Abington, Kingsthorpe and Duston, much of it within reach of Northampton General Hospital. Between Northampton General Hospital NHS Trust and West Northamptonshire Council, most of what we staff around Weston Favell sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Abington, Kingsthorpe and Duston one week, Weston Favell, Far Cotton and Delapre the next. If you are based around NN1 or NN4, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Delapre is easier for you to reach than Wootton, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Wootton.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Abington and Weston Favell first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your East Midlands shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Northampton itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Kettering, Milton Keynes and Rugby as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Northampton.
Tell us which parts of East Midlands you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
