Where the work is in Cwmbran
Work comes up near Old Cwmbran, Croesyceiliog and Llantarnam, much of it within reach of The Grange University Hospital. Between Aneurin Bevan University Health Board and Torfaen County Borough Council, most of what we staff around Pontnewydd sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Old Cwmbran, Croesyceiliog and Llantarnam one week, Pontnewydd, Fairwater and Greenmeadow the next. If you are based around NP44 or NP44, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Greenmeadow is easier for you to reach than Two Locks, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Two Locks.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Old Cwmbran and Pontnewydd first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Before you apply
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Torfaen shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Cwmbran itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Newport, Caerphilly and Cardiff as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Cwmbran.
Tell us which parts of Torfaen you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
