Care Home roles in Worcester

Protocol Healthcare Services recruits for nursing and residential homes in and around Worcester, covering everything from a single shift to a permanent contract. We place Registered Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, senior carers and support staff.

Where you would be based in Worcester

Work comes up near St John's, Barbourne and Warndon, much of it within reach of Worcestershire Royal Hospital. Between Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust and Worcestershire County Council, most of what we staff around Ronkswood sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: St John's, Barbourne and Warndon one week, Ronkswood, Dines Green and Rainbow Hill the next. If you are based around WR1 or WR5, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

What the role involves

  • Clear record keeping and handover between shifts
  • Personal care, washing, dressing and continence support
  • Supporting residents at mealtimes and with nutrition
  • Mobility support and safe moving and handling
  • Medication support appropriate to your role and training
  • Activities, companionship and keeping families informed

Hours, shifts and contracts

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Rainbow Hill is easier for you to reach than Claines, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Claines.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between St John's and Ronkswood first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

Who we are looking for

  • The right to work in the UK
  • Reliability and a genuinely person-centred approach
  • NMC registration if you are applying for a Registered Nurse post
  • Previous care home experience is helpful but not always required
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

Why people stay with us

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Worcestershire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Worcester itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Kidderminster, Redditch and Stourbridge as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Worcester.

Tell us which parts of Worcestershire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
