Support Worker roles in Ellesmere Port
Protocol Healthcare Services recruits Support Workers in and around Ellesmere Port for mental health services, learning disability support and community settings. The work is about helping people live the life they want, with as much independence as possible.
Where the work is in Ellesmere Port
Work comes up near Whitby, Great Sutton and Little Sutton, much of it within reach of Ellesmere Port Hospital. Between Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Chester Council, most of what we staff around Overpool sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Whitby, Great Sutton and Little Sutton one week, Overpool, Wolverham and Netherpool the next. If you are based around CH65 or CH66, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Supporting people to access work, education, activities and their community
- ✓ Positive behaviour support and de-escalation, with training provided
- ✓ Medication prompting and support appropriate to your training
- ✓ Accurate notes and clear communication with the wider team
- ✓ Supporting people with daily routines and personal care where needed
- ✓ Encouraging independence, choice and everyday decision making
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Netherpool is easier for you to reach than Westminster, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Westminster.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Whitby and Overpool first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Before you apply
- ✓Patience, resilience and respect for the people you support
- ✓Good communication skills
- ✓Experience in mental health or learning disability support is desirable, not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Cheshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Ellesmere Port itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Chester, Runcorn and Widnes as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Ellesmere Port.
Tell us which parts of Cheshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
