Work comes up near Chantry, Whitton and Gainsborough, much of it within reach of Ipswich Hospital. Between North Essex NHS Foundation Trust and Suffolk County Council, most of what we staff around Stoke sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Chantry, Whitton and Gainsborough one week, Stoke, Rushmere and Castle Hill the next. If you are based around IP1 or IP2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
A typical shift
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
Shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Castle Hill is easier for you to reach than Bixley Farm, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Bixley Farm.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Chantry and Stoke first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What you will need
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
How we work with you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Suffolk shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Ipswich itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Colchester, Bury St Edmunds and Chelmsford as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Ipswich.
