Nurse roles in Harlow

Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Harlow. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.

Working around Harlow

Work comes up near Old Harlow, Church Langley and Newhall, much of it within reach of The Princess Alexandra Hospital. Between The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust and Essex County Council, most of what we staff around Potter Street sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Old Harlow, Church Langley and Newhall one week, Potter Street, Great Parndon and Netteswell the next. If you are based around CM17 or CM20, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

A typical shift

  • Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
  • Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
  • Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
  • Accurate record keeping and handover
  • Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
  • Medication administration and clinical observations

Shifts and contracts

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Netteswell is easier for you to reach than Mark Hall, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Mark Hall.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Old Harlow and Potter Street first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What you will need

  • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange

How we work with you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Essex shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Harlow itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Enfield, Waltham Forest and Romford as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Harlow.

Tell us which parts of Essex you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
