Nurse roles in Dartford
Protocol Healthcare Services is looking for dedicated, compassionate and professional Registered Nurses to work in and around Dartford. We place nurses on both agency and permanent contracts, so whether you want to pick up shifts around other commitments or move into a settled post, there is a route for you.
Dartford and the area we cover
Work comes up near Town Centre, Stone and Greenhithe, much of it within reach of Darent Valley Hospital. Between Gravesham NHS Trust and Kent County Council, most of what we staff around Swanscombe sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Town Centre, Stone and Greenhithe one week, Swanscombe, Wilmington and Temple Hill the next. If you are based around DA1 or DA2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What you would be doing
- ✓ Accurate record keeping and handover
- ✓ Assessing, planning and reviewing care for the people you look after
- ✓ Medication administration and clinical observations
- ✓ Wound care, catheter care and other clinical tasks within your competence
- ✓ Working alongside GPs, district nurses and multidisciplinary teams
- ✓ Supporting and supervising care and support staff on shift
Shifts, and how they are booked
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Temple Hill is easier for you to reach than Joydens Wood, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Joydens Wood.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Town Centre and Swanscombe first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
What we look for
- ✓Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓Excellent clinical and communication skills
- ✓Experience in community, elderly or end-of-life care is desirable, but not essential
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
What we do for you
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Kent shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Dartford itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Bexley, Barking and Romford as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Dartford.
Tell us which parts of Kent you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.

Both. We recruit for temporary and permanent positions, and many people start on agency shifts around Dartford before moving into a permanent post once they have found a service that suits them.
Across nursing homes, residential services, supported living, community teams and NHS settings. In practice that means Town Centre, Stone, Greenhithe, Swanscombe and Wilmington, covering DA1, DA2, DA4 and DA9, and out into Kent. Darent Valley Hospital is the main hospital in the area.
We have immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Once your registration, right-to-work and DBS checks are in place, shifts can usually follow quickly. Call 020 8951 4510 or send us your details to get started.
