Healthcare Assistant roles in Salisbury
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Salisbury, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Where the work is in Salisbury
Work comes up near Harnham, East Harnham and West Harnham, much of it within reach of Salisbury District Hospital. Between Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust and Wiltshire Council, most of what we staff around Bemerton sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Harnham, East Harnham and West Harnham one week, Bemerton, Bemerton Heath and Fisherton the next. If you are based around SP1 or SP2, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
The job day to day
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
When you would work
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Fisherton is easier for you to reach than Laverstock, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Laverstock.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Harnham and Bemerton first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Before you apply
- ✓The right to work in the UK
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
Working with Protocol
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Wiltshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Salisbury itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Verwood, Ringwood and Ferndown as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Salisbury.
Tell us which parts of Wiltshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
