Healthcare Assistant roles in Lancaster

If you are looking for Healthcare Assistant work in Lancaster, whether that is a few shifts a week around study or family, or a full-time permanent post, Protocol Healthcare Services can help you find it.

Lancaster and the area we cover

Royal Lancaster Infirmary anchors a good deal of the health provision around Morecambe and Heysham, and the settings we recruit for sit close to it. Lancashire County Council commissions much of the care in the area, and Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust runs the clinical side.

We fill posts in Morecambe, Heysham, Skerton and Bowerham and out towards Scotforth, Marsh and Freehold. LA1, LA2, LA3 and LA4 come up most often, and work extends through Lancashire.

What you would be doing

  • Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
  • Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
  • Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
  • Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
  • Reporting changes and keeping clear records
  • Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable

Shifts, and how they are booked

You set your availability. Plenty of the people we place around Scotforth work three or four shifts and keep the rest of the week their own. Most people settle into a handful of regular services, often within a few miles of Skerton.

Agency and permanent are both on offer. Picking up shifts in two or three services around Heysham is a low-risk way to find out where you want to be.

What we look for

  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A caring, patient and reliable approach
  • Good spoken and written communication
  • Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided

What we do for you

One consultant looks after you, knows the difference between the services in Morecambe and Scotforth, and is reachable when a shift throws something up. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Lancaster itself, which we would rather say plainly.

Work in Blackpool and Preston often suits the same people, so tell us how far you are willing to go.

Send your availability and what you are qualified for, and a consultant will call you back about work around Bowerham. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
