Healthcare Assistant roles in Cheltenham
Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Cheltenham, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.
Where you would be based in Cheltenham
Work comes up near Montpellier, Pittville and Charlton Kings, much of it within reach of Cheltenham General Hospital. Between Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Gloucestershire County Council, most of what we staff around Leckhampton sits under one of the two.
Shifts land right across the patch: Montpellier, Pittville and Charlton Kings one week, Leckhampton, Prestbury and Lansdown the next. If you are based around GL50 or GL51, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.
What the role involves
- ✓ Reporting changes and keeping clear records
- ✓ Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
- ✓ Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
- ✓ Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
- ✓ Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
- ✓ Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected
Hours, shifts and contracts
Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Lansdown is easier for you to reach than The Park, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around The Park.
We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Montpellier and Leckhampton first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.
Who we are looking for
- ✓A caring, patient and reliable approach
- ✓Good spoken and written communication
- ✓Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided
- ✓An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
- ✓The right to work in the UK
Why people stay with us
We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Gloucestershire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Cheltenham itself, which we would rather say plainly.
If you can travel, there is steady work in Gloucester, Worcester and Swindon as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Cheltenham.
Tell us which parts of Gloucestershire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
