Healthcare Assistant roles in Cannock

Protocol Healthcare Services places Healthcare Assistants in and around Cannock, on agency shifts and in permanent roles. You do not need years of experience to start: what matters most is reliability, patience and a genuine interest in the people you look after.

Cannock and the area we cover

Work comes up near Cannock Town, Hednesford and Heath Hayes, much of it within reach of Cannock Chase Hospital. Between The Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Staffordshire County Council, most of what we staff around Norton Canes sits under one of the two.

Shifts land right across the patch: Cannock Town, Hednesford and Heath Hayes one week, Norton Canes, Bridgtown and Chadsmoor the next. If you are based around WS11 or WS12, you are inside the area we cover most heavily.

What you would be doing

  • Reporting changes and keeping clear records
  • Helping people wash, dress and stay comfortable
  • Supporting with meals, drinks and nutrition
  • Assisting with mobility and safe moving and handling
  • Taking and recording clinical observations under supervision
  • Companionship, conversation and keeping people connected

Shifts, and how they are booked

Full-time and part-time patterns both work. If Chadsmoor is easier for you to reach than Wimblebury, say so and the rota follows it. Once you are established we keep the work regular rather than sporadic, usually in the same two or three services around Wimblebury.

We recruit for temporary and permanent posts. Trying several settings between Cannock Town and Norton Canes first tends to make the permanent choice obvious.

What we look for

  • An enhanced DBS check, which we can arrange
  • The right to work in the UK
  • A caring, patient and reliable approach
  • Good spoken and written communication
  • Previous care experience is welcome but not essential, as training is provided

What we do for you

We are a two-office team, not a call centre. The person booking your Staffordshire shifts knows which settings suit you. We recruit from our offices in Edgware and Bournemouth and place people nationwide; there is no branch in Cannock itself, which we would rather say plainly.

If you can travel, there is steady work in Walsall, Wolverhampton and Stafford as well, and many people cover two of those alongside Cannock.

Tell us which parts of Staffordshire you can reach and we will match you to what is open. There are immediate opportunities for suitable candidates. Call 020 8951 4510 or use the contact form.
